Have just got back from France using mini ipad rather than the 7" WinCE device I normally use.
The text showing current position is virtually unreadable on mini ipad - far too small.
Rubber banding is v difficult in Flying Mode. I seemed to have to turn flying off and then change the route, delete waypoints etc. I realise its all to easy to rubber band on the ipad. Perhaps needs more thought re a better solution.
Pulling up Airfield Information for an airfield you are flying to seems very difficult. Tapping (or holding) on an airfield hardly ever picks the actual waypoint and so you do not get the View Info option. This is a serious flaw - but maybe there is already a better way than how I was doing it.
Briefing Frequencies - knowing which ATC to contact around Paris/ N France seems to be a black art. Pulling up nearby frequencies in WinCE is very easy indeed. On the ipad its far to easy to "dit" the wrong menu item.
In general I think the ipad menus seem designed much more for planning than for use with stubby fingers in flight.
However the device is definitely the best yet - IMHO - and so getting ergonomics suited to its hires screen is a v worthwhile goal.
Cheers
D

Hi there,
well, I am quite satisfied with the iPad mini, although I have to admit that I do not have the direct comparison to a windows device. Regarding usibility it is always walking the edge. Some guys are happy and others aren't.
But as I said, I don't know the "other" side...
Cheers,
Oliver
